Dell vs. Acer whish is best?

I'm considering to buy a laptop for home use, but i want to install .net and SQL server. I'm intrested in playing games. I have only two choice. In Acer i will buy core i3 or in Dell intel dual core. Can you guys propose which brand is best in performance for my useage? Thanks in advance
