Why do muslims & christians reject evolution despite dna, fossil, geological and vestigial evidence?

The people that do not believe in evolution or such take science like a religion. What is being said is conflicting what they believe. They believe that God created everything pretty much as it is a long time ago, only with people increasing in number. When you tell them that people evolved from other beings, you're basically telling them to throw a few thousand years of faith out the window (yes, thousand. Christian faith is based on Judaism). So, they're going to naturally stick to what they believed before. Everyone has what they like to believe.
